On Thursday the 8th we will be opening our flagship store a little late at 11.30am as we will be celebrating #internationalwomensday
We are taking our team of boss-babes out for brunch to take a moment to revel in the achievement of women AND the brilliance of having a woman led, women run business.
'Cause, who run the world?! GIRLS!
Saben is designed for women, by women. Behind the scenes the team are all daughters, sisters, mothers, wives, aunties and friends. The realities of juggling family and work is all too familiar for owner/designer Roanne, so it is enevitable in both business and design philosophy womanhood is at the heart of it all.
Saben aim to empower women with beautiful go-to accessories that work as hard as they do.
Roanne explains, “I come from a long line of stylish and fiercely independent women who relish in the art of dressing. I have memories of watching my grandmother, and the brands namesake, Sarah Saben, artfully edit her ensemble to reflect the demands of the day.
Your handbag is the linchpin to keeping your life in order. Inspired by the women who wear them, each design is like a proposal to women negotiating the chaos, complexity, and contradictions of contemporary life.
Meet just some of the women we are inspired by
From top left to right, Amber Armitage, Natalie Meldrum, AbbyLee Bonny, Roanne Jacobson, Caitlin Taylor, Sophia Spahn, Daneke Stowe, Abby Plested, Kim Thomas, Yon Kavvas, Mandy Duncan, and Evie Kemp.
Mothers, designers, creatives, and business owners all kicking butt in their fields. We will be celebrating these women, the pioneers before them, our team, and we will be celebrating you.
Happy International Women's Day! xx
We catch up with ever-lovely Zoe Clark, INCO Studio owner and mother of three, to chat on our three favorite things: beauty, business and babies. Zoe candidly shares her thoughts on COVID, community, and the challenges that have come with 2020 (most chaotic year to date, am I right?). As a lover of NZ design, we couldn’t help but be inspired by her edgy yet effortless style, along the way. Read more on the blog…
Colour makes us happy, and in the case of the Saben Summer collection, brighter really is better. Read more about the moodboard behind the season and why we are so excited to welcome magenta styles.
