Whitegold: The down-low

June 24, 2016 1 min read

Whitegold was the result of Whakatane based Kate Clarke's wearisome experience with online shopping. Because who doesn't enjoy the physical act of going into a store and being able to see everything in real life!?

So, Kate and her husband decided to take on the world of retail in their hometown, and bring in the products they'd normally have shopped for afar or online.

With the vision of creating a clean, spacious and elegant retail environment which could house the out-of-town goodies as well as leaving room for the mother-with-strollers, they took on the task head on. With locally sourced, custom made furniture and fittings, it was a shock to the towns system.

They have managed to create a space for both a unique retail experience, and well as DIY inspiration, with customers coming in to check out the interior as much as the products. It is certainly a 'must visit' if you're ever in the area!

Growing from strength to strength, building a loyal client both locally, and visitors (who can continue to shop Whitegold online) teamed with an infectious energy and panache, we know there are more great things to come from Kate.

Thrilled to have Whitegold Take Over our Saben Ponsonby boutique for the next four weeks - we highly suggest you swing by for first dibs Kate's eclectic mix of kids and home wares (all locally sourced of-course!) that will be gracing our shelves from Saturday 25th June until late July.
